#NowForClimate Bhamla Foundation launches Tree Plantation Drive for World Environment Day 2026

The Bhamla Foundation has announced a large-scale Tree Plantation Drive for World Environment Day 2026 under its #NowForClimate campaign, in collaboration with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, United Nations Environment Programme and Godrej Industries Group. Godrej L’Affaire has been onboarded as the digital amplification partner. The initiative aims to significantly enhance Mumbai’s green cover while mobilising citizens, youth and communities toward climate-positive action through plantation drives across key urban locations.

The campaign will be flagged off in the presence of public figures including Malaika Arora, Sachiin J Joshi, Sadia Khateeb, Shaan, Shehnaaz Gill, Rupali Ganguly and Seema Singh. Organisers said the initiative goes beyond symbolism, focusing on long-term ecological restoration, improved air quality and sustainable urban ecosystems. Sujit Patil, Chief Communications Officer at Godrej Industries Group, said the campaign reflects how collective intent across institutions, communities and individuals can drive measurable environmental impact and wider citizen participation.

Aligned with the global World Environment Day theme, the initiative reinforces India’s broader climate resilience and sustainability agenda, with more activities planned under the #NowForClimate campaign. In Guwahati, the campaign is expected to accelerate demand for nursery plants, landscaping services and eco-friendly products, as rising environmental awareness among consumers and businesses fuels growth in the region’s green economy.
