Shillong-based IAS officer and medical doctor Dr. Joram Beda has entered the global academic publishing space with the release of his new book, Nature of Information: Shaping Reality, Life, and Consciousness, published by UK-based Routledge under the Taylor & Francis Group.
The book explores the growing role of information as a possible foundational element of reality, bringing together perspectives from physics, biology, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, philosophy and consciousness studies. Positioned at the intersection of science, cognition and technology, the work contributes to emerging global discourse on how information influences life, mind and the structure of reality itself.
The publication has already gained strong traction on international digital platforms. The title recently secured the No. 1 position in Amazon India’s “Hot New Releases” list in the Metaphysics category and also featured among the platform’s Top 10 metaphysics bestsellers.
On Rakuten Kobo, the book recorded visibility across several international country stores, ranking No. 3 in Peru, No. 8 in Colombia, No. 11 in Cyprus and Estonia, and appearing in bestseller lists across Argentina, Chile, the Czech Republic, Denmark and the Philippines.

Dr. Joram Beda, a 2008-batch IAS officer and JIPMER alumnus, currently serves as Commissioner Secretary, Health, Meghalaya.He was also instrumental in the establishment of Shillong Medical College.
