Eastern Nagaland Leaders Pledge Unity Over Agreement Execution

The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) and political leaders from across Eastern Nagaland have reaffirmed their commitment to the implementation of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed between the Government of India, the Nagaland government and ENPO earlier this year. A consultative meeting convened by ENPO was held at the ENPO Conference Hall in Tuensang on June 2. The meeting was attended by office bearers of national, state and district-level political parties from the Eastern Nagaland region. According to the ENPO media cell, participants were briefed on the current status of the MoA signed on February 5, 2026. Following detailed discussions, the gathering unanimously resolved to uphold the agreement and remain fully committed to its implementation without any dilution.

ENPO stated that the resolution was in line with the decision adopted during the consultative and coordination meeting held with the Eastern Naga National Workers’ Forum on April 16, 2026. The meeting also resolved that political leaders from Eastern Nagaland, irrespective of party affiliation, would collectively work towards ensuring the implementation and materialisation of the agreement. Leaders agreed to pursue the issue through their respective political party platforms and make efforts to ensure that the provisions of the MoA are implemented without further delay. According to the resolutions adopted during the meeting, all political parties represented in the gathering expressed a shared commitment to safeguarding the interests of the people of Eastern Nagaland and supporting the implementation process.

The house further resolved that if the MoA is not implemented, political leaders from Eastern Nagaland would respond to any call given by ENPO and remain united in the larger interest of the region. The meeting reflected a rare display of political unity, with leaders from different parties coming together to reiterate support for the agreement and to emphasise the need for its timely implementation. ENPO said the commitment shown by political leaders across party lines demonstrated a collective resolve to pursue the objectives of the MoA and work towards its realisation for the benefit of the people of Eastern Nagaland.
