Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) Investor Protection Fund (IPF) has launched a new investor awareness anthem, ‘Bano Ms. Atmanirbhar Investor’, as part of its ongoing ‘AtmanirbHER’ initiative aimed at encouraging women to begin their investment journey and participate more actively in the securities market.
The anthem, sung by singer, actor and content creator SaiGodbole, has been released through a digital campaign film that portrays key milestones in a woman’s life, from starting her first job to pursuing personal and professional aspirations. The campaign draws parallels between life decisions and investing, highlighting the importance of overcoming hesitation, conducting research and making informed financial choices.
CDSL IPF said the initiative seeks to inspire women to become wealth creators, future makers and confident investors. Women currently account for nearly one in four investors in India, reflecting their growing participation in the country’s financial ecosystem. However, awareness, confidence, product understanding and access to reliable information remain critical to further strengthening women’s engagement with capital markets.
“The anthem is built around a simple but powerful message that every meaningful journey begins with a first step,” said Sudhish Pillai, Head, CDSL IPF Secretariat. He noted that informed investing can help women achieve long-term financial security while contributing to a more inclusive investment landscape.
In Guwahati, the campaign aligns with the growing interest in retail investing across Assam and the Northeast. Increasing digital adoption, wider access to investment platforms and rising financial literacy among women are expanding participation in capital markets. Industry observers believe investor education initiatives such as AtmanirbHER could play a significant role in encouraging first-time women investors in Guwahati and other emerging urban centres to make informed and responsible investment decisions.
CDSL IPF said it will continue to promote financial literacy and investor awareness among diverse audiences, with a focus on building long-term financial resilience and responsible market participation.
