CM Sarma Receives ₹25 Lakh Donation From Directorate Of Sainik Welfare, Assam

In a significant gesture of solidarity and public service, Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam have contributed ₹25 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts across the state of Assam especially for those who have been affected by the recent devastating floods in Upper Assam.

The contribution reflects the veterans’ fraternity of Assam in continued commitment to serving the society even after their years of distinguished service in the Armed Forces. Brig Polash Chowdhury, SM (Retd), Director, Directorate of Sainik Welfare, Assam along with Air Marshal Anjan Kumar Gogoi, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd) and Asom Baibhav Lt Gen Rana Pratap Kalita, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM (Retd) of the veterans’ fraternity of Assam presented the cheque to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, reaffirming their dedication to the welfare and development of the people of the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Brig Polash Chowdhury, SM (Retd) stated that the donation is a symbol of their enduring sense of duty and their desire to stand with the people of Assam during times of such adverse climatic need. He expressed confidence that the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund would ensure the assistance reaches those who require it the most. The Director also mentioned that large member of Ex-Servicemen of Assam has been voluntarily involved with the relief efforts with the civil administration of the state.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister thanked the veterans of Assam for their generous contribution and appreciated their unwavering spirit of patriotism, service and compassion. He noted that their gesture would inspire others to contribute towards humanitarian and relief initiatives in the state of Assam.

The veterans of Assam reiterated their commitment to supporting such noble initiatives that promotes public welfare, disaster relief, community development and continuing their tradition of selfless service to the nation.
