United Breweries contributes Rs 1 crore to Assam flood relief efforts

United Breweries Limited (UBL), part of the HEINEKEN Company, has contributed Rs 1 crore towards flood relief efforts in Assam as the state continues relief and rehabilitation work for communities affected by this year’s floods. UBL Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Vivek Gupta handed over the contribution to Assam Chief Minister HimantaBiswaSarma at a meeting in Guwahati on Tuesday. The contribution will support the state government’s ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts for flood-affected communities, including families whose homes, farmland and local infrastructure have been damaged across several districts.

Gupta said Assam has been an important part of UBL’s journey, with Kingfisher maintaining a strong and longstanding connection with consumers across the state. He said the company stood with the people of Assam during the challenging period and hoped its contribution would provide meaningful support as affected communities rebuild their lives and livelihoods. In Guwahati, the contribution comes as businesses and consumer-facing companies remain closely linked to the state’s economic activity and local communities.

Flood-related disruptions can affect retail operations, supply chains, agricultural incomes and consumer demand, making relief and rehabilitation important for restoring economic activity in affected areas. The contribution adds to ongoing efforts to support flood-hit communities as Assam works towards recovery and rehabilitation.
