In a bid to protect India’s senior citizens from the rising threat of cyber fraud, global communications platform Truecaller has partnered with Khyaal, the country’s leading app for elderly well-being. The collaboration aims to empower seniors with both technological tools and practical knowledge to navigate digital spaces safely. The partnership brings together Truecaller’s advanced caller identification and spam blocking features with Khyaal’s deep engagement and outreach within the senior community. As part of the initiative, all Khyaal members will get a 50% discount on Truecaller Premium, which includes enhanced protection against fraudulent calls.
Beyond the technology offering, the two companies will jointly develop educational content—ranging from “New Scam Highlights” sessions and “Spot the Scam” workshops to powerful testimonials—available digitally via the Khyaal app and on-ground events like “50Above50”.
In Guwahati, where digital adoption among senior citizens is steadily increasing, the move has been welcomed by families and caregivers. The Guwahati market has seen a notable uptick in phone-based scams targeting the elderly, especially with fake investment and health-related offers. The initiative is expected to offer much-needed relief and protection. Both companies say the effort marks a new chapter in digital safety, aiming to create a secure and informed senior citizen community.
