Bajaj Life speeds up flood claims to support grieving families in Assam

As thousands of families continue to grapple with the aftermath of floods in Assam, Bajaj Life Insurance has announced a special claims assistance initiative aimed at delivering faster financial relief to policyholders affected by the disaster in Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat and Golaghat districts. Recognising the difficulties faced by families who have lost loved ones, the insurer has established a dedicated claims settlement desk and introduced a simplified documentation process to ensure eligible death claims are processed on the highest priority. The move is intended to reduce delays and help beneficiaries access much-needed financial support during a period of distress.

Under the revised process, nominees or legal heirs can submit proof of death due to floods issued by local municipal authorities, designated government officials or hospital authorities, along with a claim intimation form, bank account details and KYC documents. If a death certificate is not immediately available, the company said claims will also be accepted based on official lists issued by hospitals, police, armed forces or State and Central government authorities, wherever applicable. Policyholders can seek assistance through Bajaj Life Insurance’s customer care helpline, nearest branch, email or the designated nodal officer.

Formerly known as Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, the company serves over 3.47 crore customers across India, manages assets exceeding Rs 1.40 lakh crore and reported an individual claim settlement ratio of 99.33 per cent in FY2025-26. The initiative highlights how financial institutions are increasingly complementing disaster relief efforts by ensuring timely insurance payouts that can help families begin rebuilding their lives.
