The Haryana government has instructed all government and private hospitals across the state to remain on high alert during the Diwali celebrations to ensure prompt medical assistance in case of emergencies. The directions have been issued by Health Minister Arti Singh Rao, emphasising the need for adequate healthcare arrangements throughout the festive period.
Under the instructions, hospitals have been asked to reserve more than 20 beds exclusively for handling emergency cases. The arrangements are intended to ensure that medical facilities remain prepared to respond to patients requiring immediate attention during the celebrations.
The minister has also directed healthcare institutions to make special provisions across several important medical departments. Dedicated beds must be available in ophthalmology, orthopaedics, surgery, trauma care and intensive care units (ICUs). These arrangements are expected to help hospitals manage different types of medical emergencies without unnecessary delays.
In addition to hospital preparedness, the government has emphasised the availability of medical personnel during the festival. Doctors and other medical staff have been instructed not to leave their respective headquarters during the Diwali period.
The directive aims to maintain uninterrupted healthcare services when emergency medical assistance may be required. By asking both public and private healthcare institutions to strengthen their arrangements, the state government is seeking to ensure that patients can receive timely treatment.
The instructions underline the importance of medical readiness, sufficient emergency beds and staff availability throughout the festive celebrations in Haryana.
