IDAN Conclave Strengthens Corporate Partnerships for Development

The Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) has secured Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitments worth more than Rs 30 crore during the Nagaland Connect 2026 CSR Conclave, marking a significant step towards strengthening partnerships for development projects across the state.

According to an IDAN press release, commitments were formalised through 15 Letters of Interest and other CSR pledges handed over to the authority in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Ministers T.R. Zeliang and Y. Patton.

The conclave, themed “Forging Partnerships, Creating Impact”, was organised by IDAN in collaboration with CSRBOX at the Jacaranda Hall of the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. More than 40 companies participated in the event, which aimed to build long-term partnerships between the corporate sector and the Nagaland government for sustainable development initiatives.

During the programme, several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), Letters of Intent and Statements of Commitment were signed, reflecting the willingness of corporate organisations to support projects in different sectors of the state. Members of the Nagaland Council of Ministers and advisers to the state government were also present at the event.

Delivering the keynote address, Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio urged India’s corporate sector to see Nagaland as a land of opportunities rather than a region seeking assistance. He described Corporate Social Responsibility as “an instrument of equity” and encouraged companies to expand their engagement beyond traditional investment destinations.

“Nagaland today is not merely a destination for assistance, it is a destination for opportunity,” Rio said. He highlighted the state’s young population, its strategic location under India’s Act East Policy and initiatives such as the Nagaki Incubation City as key strengths that position Nagaland as an emerging centre for growth, innovation and enterprise.

The Chief Minister identified education, healthcare, livelihood generation, sports, environmental sustainability, women’s empowerment and youth development as priority sectors where CSR investments could create lasting social impact. He also informed corporate representatives that the state has established a single-window platform through IDAN to facilitate, coordinate and monitor CSR projects, making it easier for companies to implement development initiatives.

Inviting greater collaboration, Rio said, “Today, I invite you not merely to invest in projects, but to invest in people and possibilities.”

Addressing the conclave, IDAN Chairman and Adviser to the Chief Minister Abu Metha said Nagaland is emerging as an important frontier state with significant potential to contribute to India’s growth story. He stressed that stronger partnerships between the government and the corporate sector would help accelerate inclusive development and create new opportunities for communities across the state.
