NFR to run special trains between Katihar and Manihari for Shravani Mela rush

To manage the anticipated surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Shravani Mela, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced two pairs of special train services between Katihar and Manihari under the Katihar Division.

According to NFR, the first pair of trains, 07540/07539 Katihar–Manihari–Katihar Shravani Mela Special, will operate 22 trips in each direction. Train No. 07540 will leave Katihar at 7:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from July 25 to August 23, reaching Manihari at 7:45 pm. The return service, Train No. 07539, will depart Manihari at 3:30 am on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from July 26 to August 24, arriving in Katihar at 4:15 am. The train will halt at Mansahi and Mahiyarpur en route.

The second pair, 07542/07541 Katihar–Manihari–Katihar Shravani Mela Special, will make eight trips in each direction. Train No. 07542 will depart Katihar at 8:30 pm on Mondays and Thursdays between July 27 and August 20, reaching Manihari at 9:15 pm. On the return journey, Train No. 07541 will leave Manihari at 5:15 am on Tuesdays and Fridays from July 28 to August 21, reaching Katihar at 6:00 am. It will also stop at Mansahi and Mahiyarpur.

NFR said the special train services have been introduced to improve connectivity and ensure a smooth and comfortable journey for devotees and passengers travelling during the Shravani Mela season.
