NSDC Partners with Fourth Valley to Build Credibility Framework for Indian Talent Moving to Japan

National Skill Development Corporation has partnered with Fourth Valley Concierge Corporation to strengthen workforce mobility opportunities for Indian professionals seeking employment in Japan, the organisations said on Monday. Under the partnership, NSDC and the Tokyo-based global recruitment firm will work to build a structured verification system aimed at improving transparency, credibility and employer confidence in Indian talent entering the Japanese workforce. The initiative will use the “Credibility Check” framework developed by NSDC Trust, a group organisation of NSDC.

The proposed verification process may include identity checks, educational and qualification verification, employment history validation, criminal background checks where legally permitted, and consistency checks of submitted documents. NSDC CEO Arunkumar Pillai said a globally aligned verification system was essential for strengthening India’s international workforce mobility ecosystem and boosting overseas employer confidence in Indian professionals. FVCC Founder and CEO Yohei Shibasaki said the partnership would help create responsible and sustainable long-term employment opportunities for Indian talent in Japan.

The initiative comes amid rising labour shortages in Japan and growing demand for foreign skilled workers. During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Japan visit in 2025, both countries had outlined plans to facilitate the movement of at least 50,000 skilled Indian professionals to Japan over the next five years. In Guwahati, the development is expected to generate fresh overseas employment opportunities for skilled youth from Assam and the Northeast region, especially in sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing and information technology. Improved verification systems could help candidates from Guwahati and nearby regions access more reliable and transparent international recruitment channels.
