PernodRicard India has announced that its flagship brand, Royal Stag, has been ranked the world’s largest-selling whisky brand for calendar year 2025, according to the latest IWSR 2025 rankings. The brand recorded annual sales of 32.6 million cases, marking a significant milestone in its 30-year journey and reinforcing the company’s leadership in the global spirits industry. PernodRicard India CEO Jean Touboul said the recognition reflects the trust consumers have placed in Royal Stag over three decades. He noted that the brand’s continued focus on innovation, authenticity and evolving consumer aspirations has enabled it to emerge as a global category leader.
Since its launch in 1995, Royal Stag has introduced grain whisky to a wider Indian audience and expanded its premium portfolio with offerings such as Royal Stag Barrel Select and Royal Stag Double Dark. The company said quality initiatives including its Mark of Purity programme and Double Tamper-Evident Technology (DTET) closures have further strengthened consumer confidence. The brand is now available in 33 countries.
Chief Marketing Officer DebasreeDasgupta said Royal Stag’s global leadership has been built through sustained innovation, premiumisation and strong consumer engagement across cricket, music and youth culture, including Royal Stag Boombox and the ICC T20 World Cup. PernodRicard India said the milestone reinforces its ambition to build globally admired brands from India with enduring cultural relevance and commercial scale.
