Tata AIA strengthens Assam footprint with 21 MDRT advisors, retains India’s top ranking

Tata AIA Life Insurance has strengthened its distribution network in Assam by registering 21 Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)-qualified advisors, reaffirming its focus on expanding professional financial advisory services while retaining its position as India’s No. 1 insurer by MDRT-qualified advisors for the fourth consecutive year.According to the 2026 Global MDRT Ranking, Kamrup Metropolitan and Kokrajhar contributed four MDRT-qualified advisors each, while Cachar accounted for two. Nationwide, Tata AIA registered 1,397 MDRT-qualified advisors, securing the 13th position globally. Nearly half of the qualifiers—695 advisors—are women, highlighting the company’s emphasis on building an inclusive advisor ecosystem.

MDRT is regarded as the global benchmark of excellence in life insurance and financial services, recognising advisors for professional expertise, ethical standards and customer service. Tata AIA also ranked first in India for advisors with five to nine years of MDRT qualification, with 207 members in this category. Chief Distribution Officer – Proprietary Business Rakesh Sharma said the recognition reflected the quality, consistency and commitment of the company’s advisor network and reaffirmed its strategy of nurturing full-time financial professionals through learning, mentorship and digital enablement.

The insurer said its Aura platform supports advisor development, enabling them to provide long-term financial guidance on protection, retirement, education and wealth creation. Tata AIA also reported industry-leading persistency performance, ranking No. 1 in four of five FY26 cohorts, alongside assets under management of ₹1.46 lakh crore and an individual death claim settlement ratio of 99.45%, reinforcing consumer confidence in its business model.
