TVS Motor Company, part of TVS VENU, has partnered with She for Society and Taliru Foundation to strengthen women’s participation in Bengaluru’s commercial mobility sector through the launch of 16 pink electric autos under the “Building Queens from the Grassroots” initiative.
The 16 vehicles, delivered to women beneficiaries identified by Taliru Foundation, represent the first phase of a planned expansion to 100 electric autos. The programme is aimed at creating sustainable livelihood opportunities while supporting entrepreneurship, income generation and greater economic participation among women auto drivers.
The initiative has received financial backing from women’s organisations across India, highlighting a collaborative model involving the mobility industry, social organisations and community stakeholders. The programme forms part of TVS Motor’s large-scale Pink Auto project and is designed to create a pathway for more women to enter the commercial mobility ecosystem.
Rajat Gupta, Business Head, Commercial Mobility, TVS Motor Company, said the collaboration reflected the company’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable commercial mobility and supporting women entrepreneurs.
Harshini of She for Society said the initiative seeks to build financial independence among women through mobility, with the 16 autos marking the beginning of an effort to empower 100 women.
Chitra of Taliru Foundation said the programme would create meaningful livelihood opportunities for women aspiring to become independent earners.
