The launch of Robotsav – The Festival of Technology by Vi Foundation and Ericsson marks a significant development in India’s growing education technology ecosystem, with the two partners expanding their focus on robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) education for school students through a nationwide digital platform.
Launched under the Robotics Lab Programme in collaboration with knowledge partner Moinee Foundation, the Robotsav website provides students across India with access to quizzes, essay-writing competitions, blogs and curated learning resources on robotics, AI, 3D printing, programming, virtual reality (VR) and generative AI. The platform has been designed as an open digital learning hub, allowing students to build technology skills at their own pace, while offline robotics competitions planned in the coming months are expected to enhance practical learning and innovation.
Industry observers view the initiative as a positive step towards strengthening India’s future-ready workforce by encouraging STEM education at the school level. Ambika Khurana, Chief Regulatory & Corporate Affairs Officer at Vodafone Idea and Director of Vi Foundation, said the initiative aligns with the Digital India mission by making emerging technologies more accessible. Saharsh Simon David, Head of Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility at Ericsson India, said the collaboration aims to nurture curiosity, innovation and problem-solving skills among young learners.
The Robotics Lab Programme currently operates 20 robotics labs across seven states and has benefited nearly 10,000 students. The launch of Robotsav is expected to further expand the programme’s reach, reinforcing the long-term market potential of India’s digital education and technology skilling ecosystem.
