Assam Governor visits Pethub Monastery in Mongolia

Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya visited the Pethub Monastery in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and paid floral tribute to the Mahatma Gandhi statue on the Monastery premises.
The Governor met with 20th Bakula Rinpoche and discussed various issues regarding their well-being and the working of the Monastery. He paid tributes in the main temple hall. He interacted with the Indian monks from Ladakh at the Monastery.
Sonam Wangchuk, Deputy Director General of the Asian Buddhist Conference for Peace (ABCP) and former close aide of Kushok Bakula Rinpoche (1918-2003) explained about the history of the Monastery. The Monstery was founded by the Ambassador of India to Mongolia Kushok Bakula Rinpoche in 1997 through his personal savings.
