West Bengal BJP Shuts Doors on Ex-TMC Leaders, Vowing to Protect Party Identity from ‘Trinamoolisation’

West Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya has firmly closed the party’s doors against the induction of defectors and former Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders, strongly asserting that the “Trinamoolisation of the BJP will never happen.” Addressing reporters in Kolkata, Bhattacharya completely dismissed intense speculation regarding the potential crossing over of TMC rebels following recent political shifts in the state. He emphasized that the BJP’s significant rise to securing 207 assembly seats was built strictly on the relentless hard work of its grassroots workers rather than opportunistic political imports, meaning the party has no intention of accommodating “tainted” individuals whom the public previously voted against. Turning his attention to the ruling party’s internal crises, Bhattacharya claimed that public support for the TMC has entirely eroded and that the organization is now fracturing under its own severe contradictions. His remarks coincided with a tense political atmosphere as TMC chief Mamata Banerjee prepared to lead a defiant, unauthorized protest march at Kolkata’s Rani Rashmoni Road against alleged post-poll violence targeting party MPs, including an assault that left Abhishek Banerjee injured. Dismissing the planned demonstration as a desperate political maneuver, Bhattacharya stated that the people of West Bengal have fundamentally rejected the TMC and that Banerjee is simply attempting to manufacture national controversy to divert attention from her party’s cascading internal rebellion.
