Assam Govt Launches Emergency Helpline for Residents Stranded in Flood-Hit Nepal

The Assam government has initiated emergency assistance for residents of the state stranded in flood-affected Nepal, facilitating communication lines at Assam Bhawan in New Delhi.

The Office of the Resident Commissioner, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, in a public notice issued on Thursday, asked residents of the state affected by the floods in Nepal to contact designated officials for emergency assistance and necessary coordination.

Dedicated contact channels have been opened for immediate assistance, coordination and information.

According to the public notice, stranded people from the state requiring assistance can contact Arunam Medhi, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, at +91-9108091591, or Vinod Kalita, house manager, Assam Bhawan, New Delhi, at +91-8920570507.

Besides, three emergency telephone lines of Assam Bhawan, New Delhi – 011-23010299, 011-23010298 and 011-2687111, have been kept operational for people from the state stranded in Nepal to contact when required.
