According to the advisory, the area within a one-kilometre radius of the outbreak epicentre at Toulazouma village has been declared an “Infected Zone”, while areas within a 10-kilometre radius have been designated as a “Surveillance Zone”. The administration has prohibited the movement and transportation of pigs, pork, pig products, animal feed and related materials within and outside the notified zones with immediate effect.
Authorities have also banned the slaughter, sale and distribution of pigs and pork products within the containment zones until further orders. All village councils, GBs, ward authorities, butchers, meat vendors and residents have been directed to strictly comply with the advisory and immediately report any unusual illness or death of pigs to the nearest veterinary office. The administration has further instructed pig farm owners to maintain strict biosecurity protocols, including proper disinfection and restricted access to farms.
Officials stated that disposal of pig carcasses must be carried out strictly according to veterinary department protocols and Government of India guidelines. The administration warned that any violation of the directives would invite legal action under relevant provisions of law.
