TVS-owned Norton unveils 450 cc urban motorcycle to drive global expansion

Iconic British brand Norton Motorcycles has announced a new 450 cc urban motorcycle, signaling a major expansion into accessible premium segments under the ownership of TVS Motor Company. Powered by a liquid-cooled 454 cc single-cylinder engine delivering 45 Nm of torque, the vehicle features an aluminium frame, reductive design language, and an 8-inch TFT touchscreen display.

The strategy forms part of Norton’s broader growth blueprint led by TVS Motor Company Chairman Sudarshan Venu. Utilizing TVS R&D hubs across Solihull, Italy, and India, Norton is scaling its retail presence across Europe, the US, and India. Building on recent launches like the award-winning Manx R, official sales for the 450 cc motorcycle will commence in 2027, with the model name to be revealed prior to launch.

Guwahati’s burgeoning mid-capacity motorcycle segment presents a lucrative growth runway for TVS. As Northeast India experiences rising disposable incomes, upgraded road infrastructure, and a surging demand for executive commuting and weekend touring, Guwahati serves as the primary retail hub for the region. Norton’s upcoming Indian entry via TVS Motor’s established distribution footprint positions the brand to capture high-value urban riders across Assam and neighboring states.
