The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) held a series of high-level meetings with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in New Delhi between December 18 and 21 to discuss issues related to the proposed Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNT).
According to ENPO, a bilateral meeting was held on December 18 with an MHA delegation led by Advisor (North East) A.K. Mishra. Other members of the MHA team included Director (NE) A.K. Dhyani, Joint Director (IB) Rajesh Kamble, and Joint Secretary (NE) Niraj Kumar Bansod.
This was followed by a High-Level Committee (tripartite) meeting on December 19 at Kartavya Bhavan-3, involving representatives of the Government of India, the Government of Nagaland, and the ENPO. The meeting was chaired by Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, while the Nagaland government delegation was led by Chief Secretary Sentiyanger Imchen.
Continuing its engagements, the ENPO delegation, accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP S. Phangnon Konyak, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his official residence on December 21. During the meeting, the delegation extended Christmas greetings to the Home Minister and conveyed their appreciation for his seriousness and commitment towards addressing the FNT issue.
ENPO stated that the meetings reflected continued dialogue and engagement with the Centre on matters concerning Eastern Nagaland and the proposed territorial arrangement.
